St Peter’s church Loudwater has a long-term link with Deep Roots, a project based in the town of Kasese in SW Uganda, near the border with DRC, in co-operation with South Rwenzori diocese of the Church of Uganda.
Deep Roots is a discipleship project aimed at helping young people aged 12- 30 to understand the biblical basis of their Christian faith and how to apply it in their own culture. A key feature of Deep Roots is that the supporting literature and training materials have been produced with local Christian leaders to make them culturally relevant to their audience. Through a programme of training “ambassadors” to lead groups in their own communities, well over 1000 students are being helped to live out a distinctive Christian lifestyle.
