Lunch at Venus Primary

The kitchen staff at Venus Primary, Kimberley, provide a hot, nutritious meal for 600 children each school day. They have very basic kitchen facilities, lots of large cooking pots and very big smiles. They are proud of what they do, and the hungry children finish every morsel of food. Mr Africa, the Headteacher, told me many of these children arrived at school on Monday morning having eaten nothing since lunch at school the previous Friday. All Saints Church, Homevale, is set in the same community and has an outreach programme giving food and clothing to families who need them.
